We have had illness at our house for just over a week now. The boys have totally been knocked out and the girls are all holding their own. The girls' low grade fevers and some congestion is nothing compared to the 103+, coughing continually, and more mucus coming out of heads than I can believe can be manufactured there that the boys have had/have. Of course, JJ seems to be doing the worse so we took him to the physician today along with Rose's 2 month check and Graces' med check. JJ immediately swabbed positive for Influenza B. Normally we just roll through these illnesses because virus' can't be treated...but for JJ it always goes to his lungs.
So...he is on antibiotics for bronchitis and we are hoping that it doesn't develop into pneumonia. Thankfully my husband and I, and Rose have had no symptoms at all. We are praying that it remains that way! Now that we have a positive test on JJ if any of the rest of us develop symptoms we will go on Tamaflu right away. Baby can't get it...and we adults need to take care of kids!
I'm pretty sure that an achy body and slight dizziness from no more than 2 consecutive hours of sleep for the last 5 days due to holding a sweltering hot 2 year old body next to me all night long that cannot get comfortable or breath quietly is not symptoms of Influenza B;)
The up side is that after we got back from the physician the babies were sleeping so my husband and I got to take a walk to the pharmacy together (alone!!!) to pick up the prescription and enjoy one another and this beautiful February weather for a bit. In our life adventure...that was pretty special!
No Awana tonight for our family...hoping that we are all healed by Saturday so we don't miss Beautiful play basketball!!
